Parish Clerk

18/09/2021 by Timsbury Parish Council

Angela Wilson was appointed to the position of Parish Clerk on September 1st. She brings to the job a wealth of experience in administration and organisation.

Her previous jobs include a long spell with the Ministry of Defence at Foxhill, Bath, and five years with Norton Radstock College where she taught business studies and administered the highway engineering courses. She served as parish clerk for Peasedown St John for three years and was a director of Radstock Co-operative Society for 28 years, 10 of them as chairman.

Angela was born in Radstock and has lived in the town all her life. She presently shares her home with two much-loved dogs, an elderly cocker spaniel and a more active Yorkshire terrier.

In addition to the dogs her hobbies include genealogy; craft work- mostly with paper; quiz nights and gardening. At home she tends flowers and a wildlife pond and, on her allotment plot, she grows vegetables.

“Coming to Timsbury as clerk is an exciting opportunity for me,” Angela confirmed. “I’ve been assured that it is a welcoming community with a strong sense of identity and I very much look forward to meeting everyone and getting to know more about the activities and interests in the village.

“We have established an office in the YMCA building in North Road and I expect to be there most mornings, Monday to Thursday, between 10.00am and 1.00pm. As I shall also work from home and be out and about in the village it would be helpful if anyone wishing to meet me for a chat could make an appointment on 07594 651366 or via email at  timsbury.parish.clerk@gmail.com”.
