Parish councils in England were formally established by the Local Government Act of 1894. This act delegated the oversight of civic duties in rural areas to these elected bodies. In 1994 Timsbury Parish Council commemorated 100 years of providing this function and produced a video showing the wide range of activities in the village over a year and gives a snapshot of Timsbury at this time.
