This is a photo of a painting by Grace Barter, wife of the rector William Barter, of the south view of Timsbury Old Church, which was taken down in May 1825.St Mary’s Church
This water colour shows the church in the 1840s. The chancel, as it is now, had not been added. The old church had fallen into such disrepair that it was considered best to demolish it entirely and rebuild. There was a false story in the 1960s and 70s that the church had burnt down. This information is based on that written by Rev. H V Davies on 1st August 1975.St Mary’s Church
