2026 Timsbury Football Presentation Night

05/06/2026 by Timsbury Parish Council

There was sadness at the annual Presentation night of Timsbury Football Club which was held at the Cricket Clubroom following the recent death of Adie Heal. Tributes were led by Club Chairman Rob Veater to someone who had worked tirelessly behind the scenes for many years and whose presence had already been badly missed.

On the field it had been another difficult year for the club. The first team having moved down to the third division of the Somerset County League finished mid-table but the young reserve side had found life in the Premier Division of the Mid-Somerset League very taxing and despite a couple of close calls had ended winless. Despite the results the atmosphere within the club had remained buoyant and Veater thanked all those who had worked hard for the benefit of the club.

The Reserve team awards were presented by Simon Roper from sponsors Fuller-Roper. The Players’ player trophy was won by Taylor Davies and Jack Lockyer received the manager’s award. Jack Roper was voted the Supporters’ player of the year for the Reserves and this presentation was made by Club President Nigel Day.

The first team awards were presented by managers Adam Bean and Matt Glanfield. The manager’s player of the year was Lucas Hawkins while the players voted for Iwan Tudor. Fin Goudie won the Roy Lockyer trophy for the first team supporters’ player of the year which was presented by Roy’s son Steve.

Nathan Flynn collected the Alan Thomas Trophy from Alan’s daughter Nicky as leading goal scorer while the Chris Fear Trophy as the young player of the year went to Joe Marsland. The prestigious Adie Heal Trophy for club person of the year was presented jointly to Darren Perry and Steve Lockyer.
