Timsbury Cricket Club AGM 2024

10/01/2025 by Timsbury Parish Council

Jesse Bishop was re-elected as first team captain when Timsbury Cricket Club held its AGM at the clubroom. There is a new vice-captain, however, with Lewis Redwood who had a first successful year with the club replacing Kevin Sibley. The chairman, Ben Hosford continues at the helm of the club but has decided to stand down as second team skipper.  Adam Workman takes over with Dan Hill as vice-captain. Hill made a presentation to Hosford and thanked him for the wonderful atmosphere he had created in the team which had included a number of promotions. Chris Rawlings continues as third team captain.

In his annual report the Chairman said that it had been another challenging year but there had been a number of positives. The refurbishment of the clubroom under the guidance of Hill had been very well received and he thanked Mike Passingham for arranging the grant that had made it possible. The bar set-up had worked successfully, the social media had been well supervised  by Sol Thompson and the nets had been well attended. The first eleven had been close to promotion but had just missed out. There remained a good spirit in the club and a number of new members had joined. All Stars and Dynamos were again a great success and the Chairman thanked  Dan Hill and many others who worked to  make it all worthwhile. The under elevens had enjoyed a good year of league cricket and he thanked George Webb for all his work that had made it possible.

Looking to the future, work is scheduled on the pitch and there are hopes of running more matches on Sundays. The club will also be celebrating its 150th anniversary and a sub-committee was formed to organise the events.
