First Bus travel arrangements from Monday, May 21st 2020

First Bus announces new rules for bus travel

Garden waste collections resume

B&NES Council is restarting fortnightly garden waste collections on Monday, April 27th after the service was temporarily paused due to the Covid-19 outbreak.  Residents will receive extra green waste collections before they are asked to renew, to make up for missed collections.  Existing garden waste stickers will now be valid until July 18th 2020 to make up for the missed collections. Football 8.02.2020: Timsbury Athletic 4 Wells City Reserves 2

Timsbury Athletic strengthened their position at the top of the Uhlsport Somerset County League Division 1 with a 4-2 home win against Wells City Reserves but they needed all of their battling qualities to come out on top against a side who pressed for long periods. B&NES Council publishes budget plan

New investment in key priority areas including tackling the climate emergency and delivering more affordable housing, will be considered by Bath & North East Somerset Council’s cabinet as part of its budget-setting process. Uhlsport Somerset County League Division 1 leaders Timsbury Athletic bounced back to form in emphatic style with a 5-0 home win over Somerton Town. Captain Ellis Hancock led the way with a hat-trick  with striker Rhys Cook grabbing a brace. Advice on saving energy and cutting costs

The Energy at Home Advice Service, run on behalf of B&NES Council by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, is holding drop-in sessions to give residents a better understanding of how to save energy through heating and insulation improvements as well as information on smart meters and lowering their fuel bills by switching energy suppliers. Bath Clean Air Zone approved

B&NES Council will introduce a Clean Air Zone on Wednesday, November 4th 2020. The CAZ will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year and will see charges of £100 per day for higher emission buses, coaches and HGVs; and £9 per day for higher emission taxis, private hire vehicles, minibuses, LGVs and vans (including private vans, campervans and pick-ups) to drive in the zone.
