Timsbury Athletic’s disappointing start to the new season continued with a 4-3 home defeat to Wrington Redhill in the Uhlsport Somerset County League Division 1 after they had led 3-1 15 minutes into the second half. Wellbeing College offers help with young children

The HENRY programme is a free eight-week course for parents and carers of children aged nought to five years old. The programme is designed to help little ones get off to a great start. Each week there is a one- hour online live session plus a couple of videos to watch before each session. There is also a free toolkit with lots of resources. B&NES Council has launched a liveable neighbourhoods consultation. Liveable neighbourhoods are an important part of the Council’s plan to tackle the climate and ecological emergency and to improve health and wellbeing across the area. They will improve air quality and health, encourage more walking and cycling and reduce vehicles in residential areas. Update on Coronavirus cases in the Somer Valley

Dr Bruce Laurence, Director of Public Health at Bath & North East Somerset Council, yesterday called for people in the Somer Valley to “up their game” in responding to a worrying increase in Covid-19 cases in the area.  Following the increase in confirmed cases, Public Health England, Bath & North East Somerset Council and Somerset County Council are working together to manage the situation. More buses from August 3rd

First Bus has issued new timetables starting on 3rd August offering additional services between Timsbury and Bristol and Bath. The 178 will restart Saturday service with buses every two hours. In addition there will be a new service using early morning and late evening buses on the 171 and 172 routes. Bookings available for Brislington Park and Ride buses

From 6pm on July 28th journeys on the Brislington Park and Ride buses can be booked up to one week in advance. All journeys will be bookable on this service.There is no charge for booking and passengers have the choice to use an existing ticket (mTicket, paper, Travelwest Travelcard or Concessionary Pass) or to buy one when booking. The West of England Combined Authority is supporting the region’s recovery as shops begin to open by helping those who cannot work from home to return to work safely. From Monday 15 June passengers must wear a face covering on public transport. Posters will be displayed in bus shelters advising passengers how to keep our buses safe. Bloomfield Road closure from June 8th

The length of Timsbury Road / Bloomfield Road, from a point 60m south of Hillside Farm to the junction with North Road, will be closed for carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works from Monday,  June 8th. See the map here for the extent of the works. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position (expected to be between 7.00am and 7.00pm) and the work may not last for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works.
