Timsbury cricket 23.08.2025

25/08/2025 by Timsbury Parish Council

The penultimate weekend of the cricket season saw Timsbury produce one of their most disappointing displays of the campaign. But despite an 82-run away defeat at Hambrook there is still everything to play for on the last day of the Bristol and District League Division 1 season. Starting the weekend in top place Timsbury now lie third but significantly they are at home to second placed Whitchurch and victory would ensure promotion.  After electing to bat first Hambrook went off like a train … [Read more...] about Timsbury cricket 23.08.2025

A convincing 61-run home victory over bottom club Clevedon 2nd XI has seen Timsbury rise to the top of the Bristol and District League Division 1 with just two games of the season remaining. With local neighbours Midsomer Norton 2nd XI  just three points behind and Whitchurch, who Timsbury play in the last game of the campaign, a further five points back it all adds up to an exciting finale. Timsbury cricket 2.08.2025

04/08/2025 by Timsbury Parish Council

For the second time this season Timsbury and Keynsham second eleven served up a thrilling encounter in the Bristol and District League Division 1 and just like their first meeting it went to the very last ball of the match. Needing six to win the visitors, Keynsham, could manage just a single and Timsbury triumphed by four runs. Having been put into bat the home side lost Greg Passingham early on. Then an excellent partnership of 96 between Kev Sibley and Josh Tucker set up Timsbury for a … [Read more...] about Timsbury cricket 2.08.2025

Timsbury cricket 19.07.2025

20/07/2025 by Timsbury Parish Council

Another fine all round team effort saw Timsbury First Eleven overcome promotion rivals Lodway. Timsbury’s openers Mark Sage(41) and Jon Strand(47) gave the home side a solid base for the next three batsmen Ben Hosford(24), Josh Tucker(24no) and captain Jesse Bishop(32) to post a very useful total of 185-4 at tea. In reply the visitors did not enjoy the best of starts against Timsbury’s slow bowling attack. Freddie Hosford(2-14), Strand(3-16), Sam Hoddinott(1-32) and Greg Passingham(2-41) again … [Read more...] about Timsbury cricket 19.07.2025

Timsbury cricket 12.07.2025

14/07/2025 by Timsbury Parish Council

Midsomer Norton seconds had much the better of things in their local derby at Timsbury winning comfortably by 63 runs in the Bristol and District League Division 1. Once again it was the experienced all-rounder Martin Cox who proved to be Timsbury’s nemesis with another dominant performance in the searing heat. Batting first the visitors soon lost the dangerous John Carroll who was caught and bowled by Freddie Hosford who bowled another tight eight-over spell of 1-16. Thereafter Cox carried on … [Read more...] about Timsbury cricket 12.07.2025
