A message from First Bus

Following recent guidance from the Government I want to update you on what we’re doing at First to keep you travelling safe. From the 31st May we are running far more buses to provide more seats for keyworkers and essential journeys. Bloomfield Road closure from June 8th

The length of Timsbury Road / Bloomfield Road, from a point 60m south of Hillside Farm to the junction with North Road, will be closed for carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works from Monday,  June 8th. See the map here for the extent of the works. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position (expected to be between 7.00am and 7.00pm) and the work may not last for the whole of the period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. Online Wellbeing courses

First Bus announces new rules for bus travel

Garden waste collections resume

B&NES Council is restarting fortnightly garden waste collections on Monday, April 27th after the service was temporarily paused due to the Covid-19 outbreak.  Residents will receive extra green waste collections before they are asked to renew, to make up for missed collections.  Existing garden waste stickers will now be valid until July 18th 2020 to make up for the missed collections. Football 8.02.2020: Timsbury Athletic 4 Wells City Reserves 2

Timsbury Athletic strengthened their position at the top of the Uhlsport Somerset County League Division 1 with a 4-2 home win against Wells City Reserves but they needed all of their battling qualities to come out on top against a side who pressed for long periods. B&NES Council publishes budget plan

New investment in key priority areas including tackling the climate emergency and delivering more affordable housing, will be considered by Bath & North East Somerset Council’s cabinet as part of its budget-setting process. The council’s proposed spending plans and new Corporate Strategy will go before cabinet on Thursday 13 February. Football 1.02.20: Timsbury Athletic 5 Somerton Town 0

Uhlsport Somerset County League Division 1 leaders Timsbury Athletic bounced back to form in emphatic style with a 5-0 home win over Somerton Town. Captain Ellis Hancock led the way with a hat-trick  with striker Rhys Cook grabbing a brace. The game in fact started badly for Cook who had an early chance saved by Somerton keeper Brian Hardy and then missed a fifth-minute penalty scuffing his effort wide of the post after Chris Midgeley had been brought down.
