B&NES Council has allocated £547,000 to provide support to vulnerable residents faced with high energy costs this winter. Help will be provided via pre-paid debit cards and is available for all forms of heating including fuel oil and solid fuels. This is funding has been provided by the Department for Work & Pensions. Camerton Village Hall was packed for the annual Presentation evening of Timsbury Cricket Club with all three teams well represented. The evening began with applause for all those associated with the club who had been lost over the last couple of years. The Parish Council has received the sum of £50,216. The money must be spent within the next five years on village infrastructure for the benefit of the community. The money comes from a levy imposed by B&NES Council on the new Upper Conygre development which is situated at the crossroads on the old mining site (formerly known as Wheelers Yard).
