Timsbury 1st XI had a weekend to forget after they were beaten by seven wickets at home to their perennial nemesis Frenchay in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division. After batting first they lost key batsmen Mark Sage and Kev Sibley with just 1 on the board and from there they never recovered. Timsbury 1st XI’s inconsistent start to the season continued with disappointing four-wicket defeat away to Keynsham 2nd XI  in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division. After electing to bat first Timsbury made the worst of starts losing their first three wickets for 26 before a sensible stand of 59 between Mark Sage (43)  and Gary Pearcy(23)  redressed the balance. Road closures in June and August

B&NES Council intends to close several roads in the area during June and August. The details are: Radford Hill, Radford from outside the property known as the ‘The Stables’ on Monday, June 27th 2022 for a maximum period of five days, but probably for three, with restrictions only when necessary. Western Power Distribution will be working to cut trees near to 33kv electricity cables. Timsbury 1st XI came back strongly after their disappointing two-wicket defeat at home to Winterbourne second XI to record a convincing six-wicket victory away to second placed Stapleton in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division. High Street closed Sunday, June 12th

On Sunday June 12th 2022 Wales and West Utilities expects to close the High Street  between Sunbeam Cottage and the Corner House. There will still be access to the car park. Energy Rebate payments

Most people entitled to the Government’s £150 energy rebate and who pay their council tax by direct debit will have received the payment. The remainder should be paid over the next two weeks (i.e. by June 13th). Anyone who does not pay by direct debit will be contacted by the Council by the end of June and invited to make a claim. The rebate is paid to residents living in properties in Council Tax bands A to D as a one-off payment to help with rises in fuel bills. Despite half-centuries from captain Jon Strand and Kev Sibley Timsbury 1st XI slipped to a disappointing two-wicket defeat at home to Winterbourne second XI in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division. I t proved a difficult weekend for Timsbury Cricket Club with all three teams losing their league games on Saturday before the first team exited the National Village Cup on Sunday with a 48-run defeat at home to Congresbury.  The main achievement, however, was the club managing to field three teams on Saturday despite an abnormal number of unavailabilities. There was a thrilling finish to Timsbury’s first home game of the season in the Bristol and District League Senior Division with their match with Coalpit Heath finishing in a tie off the last ball of the encounter. Memorable season for Timsbury Athletic

Timsbury Athletic are Champions in the UHlsport Somerset County League Division One having gone throughout the season undefeated at home with 13 victories and two draws. The team played some of their most attractive football for years.
