Timsbury Cricket Club AGM 2022

Timsbury Cricket Club’s first eleven will be led by probably the youngest skipper in its 150-year history with the appointment of 25-year-old Jesse Bishop. He will be replacing Jon Strand who has led the club with distinction but who felt it was now the right time to step down. Avian Influenza confirmed at Chew Valley Lake

A case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) from the H5N1 strain has been confirmed in four wild swans at Chew Valley Lake. The birds had been found by Bristol Water and were already dead. Humans and other animals can be infected with Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza through close contact with live infected birds. The cases of this occurring are extremely rare and the risk to human health is normally negligible. Proposed new constituency area

The Boundary Commission for England has published a new revised map of constituency proposals, which takes into account feedback sent in by the public on the initial proposals. Football 5.11.2022: Timsbury Athletic 4 Highridge Utd 1

Timsbury Athletic are through to the third round of the Somerset Senior Cup after a 4-1 home win against Highridge Utd . In the end it was a comfortable victory for the home side although the visitors from the Bristol and District League kept battling to the end. Rico Sobers was in early action for Timsbury shooting just wide and then volleying over from a fine cross from Rhys Cook. Timsbury Athletic suffered their first home defeat since their promotion to the Uhlsport Somerset County League Premier Division going down 3-2 against Middlezoy Rovers. Despite being without a number of key players Timsbury were always in the game and the result was in doubt right to the end. Timsbury Athletic maintained their impressive start to the new campaign with a 3-1 home win over  Clevedon United who are one of the early  front runners in the Uhlsport Somerset County League Premier Division. Timsbury Athletic are through to the next round of the Somerset Senior Cup after a 5-1 home win against Clevedon United Reserves. Replacement 178 bus service

Details of the replacement 178 bus service, funded by WECA and starting on October 10th, are now available at http://www.citistar.co.uk/cs178.pdf. On Monday to Friday buses are scheduled to leave Bloomfield Road, Timsbury for Keynsham at 8.07; 8.42; 10.32; 13.32; 15.32 and 18.00. Departures for Paulton are scheduled for 7.48; 9.53; 11.53; 14.53 and 16.56. The service is provided by Citistar and Abus (badged 178) and First Bus (badged 349). Cheaper bus fares from September 25th

New charges for journeys will start from 25 September on the vast majority of West of England buses before being introduced across all routes, regardless of operator, by the end of next month. All single adult bus tickets in Bristol and Bath will be reduced to £2 for adults while returns will cost £3.50. Outside of the two cities there will also be sizeable cost reductions for adults with a 12-mile single journey dropping from £6.50 to £3.70 and a return from £7.50 to £5.
