A Social Afternoon in October

On Tuesday, October 11th, the West of England Rural Network invites you to make a song and dance in the Conygre Hall. Doors open at 1.30pm and the event runs from 2.00pm until 3.30pm. Session features The Golden Oldies Sing and Smile and Jane Price, Fitsteps and Dance tutor. You will be welcome to enjoy the music, take part or watch and listen. Mark of respect

Timsbury Parish Council are saddened by the death of HRH Queen Elizabeth II. The Union Flag will be flying half-mast at the Bath Guildhall, Keynsham Memorial Gardens and Midsomer Norton Library and Information Service as a mark of respect. B&NES Community Awards

Nominations are open for people to champion individuals, businesses or organisations who deserve recognition for their positive contribution to Bath and North East Somerset. This year there are seven categories and the winners will be invited to a special event hosted by the Chair of the Council, Councillor Shaun Stephenson-McGall, where a tree will be planted at a special ceremony this autumn in recognition of their achievements. Timsbury 1st XI finished their campaign in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division with their  highest score of the season but it was still not enough as they finished 65 runs short of their target. There was also defeat for the club’s second string but a convincing win for the third eleven. Timsbury were under the cosh right from the outset after asking Claverham to bat first. Walking Festival September 11th

The Conygre Hall is the starting point for several walks in the Somer Valley Walking Festival on Sunday 11th of September. These include a six-mile walk taking in the Coal Canal, Greyfield Wood and William Smith’s home near High Littleton; an eight-mile walk along the Cam Valley to Clandown and back along the Coal Canal; a 12-mile walk to Clutton and Marksbury; a 7.5 mile walk via Camerton and Peasedown. Another disappointing batting display saw Timsbury 1st XI suffer a four-wicket home defeat against Pak Bristolians in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division but there was more good news for the third eleven who won a thriller on the school field. A thumping win for the 3rd XI was the highlight of what turned out to be a disappointing weekend for Timsbury Cricket Club with defeats for both of the senior sides.  Timsbury 1st XI  were once again unable to make the most of a promising start losing by six wickets away to high fliers Frenchay in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division. It turned out to be a weekend to remember for Timsbury Cricket Club with a crucial win for the first team, a record breaking success for the seconds and victory for the 10-men third eleven.
