13/02/2022 by Timsbury Parish Council

Timsbury Athletic returned to the top of the  UHlsport Somerset County League Division One with a 2-0 home win against bottom side Staplegrove in a game that was ruined by a strong wind. The home side dominated for long periods but it was not until Chris Midgley struck an outstanding goal eight minutes from time that Timsbury could rest easy. The home side could have gone ahead in the first minute when Toby Neilson set up Ellis Hancock but he struck the post from close range. In Staplegrove’s … [Read more...] about Football 12.2.2022: Timsbury Athletic 2 Staplegrove 0

Football 29.01.2022: Timsbury Athletic 1 Minehead 0

31/01/2022 by Timsbury Parish Council

A goal from Chris Midgley eight minutes into the second half was enough to see Timsbury Athletic gain a crucial 1-0 home win against Minehead and leapfrog their opponents to top spot in the UHlsport Somerset County League Division One. In a game where a strong wind did its best to disrupt the flow of the match there was nevertheless a tension and competitive element befitting a contest with so much resting on it in front of a good sized crowd. The game took a while to get going and it was 15 … [Read more...] about Football 29.01.2022: Timsbury Athletic 1 Minehead 0

Timsbury Athletic maintained their title challenge in the UHlsport Somerset County League Division One with a comprehensive 3-0 home win against Wrington Redhill. The visitors played a lot of good football but they lacked a cutting edge up front and they were comfortably held by an impressive Timsbury defensive unit. Timsbury began strongly and a telling cross from Chris Midgley saw Ellis Hancock hammer his shot into the side-netting. A speculative effort from Sean Derrick sailed over the top … [Read more...] about Football 22.01.2022: Timsbury Athletic 3 Wrington Redhill 0

Advice on home security

15/12/2021 by Timsbury Parish Council

The North Mendip Beat Team (PC Peard 3455, PCSO Bowen 8390) have offered this list of points to check as an aid to discouraging opportunist thieves: Make sure the doors and frames are strong and are in good condition. Fit back and front doors with a five-lever mortice deadlock - and use it. Glass panels on or around the door are especially vulnerable, so replace them with laminated glass. Fit a letterbox cage to stop someone reaching inside to open your night latch lock. Check … [Read more...] about Advice on home security

Timsbury Athletic again demonstrated why they are one of the frontrunners in the Uhlsport Somerset County League Division 1 with a comprehensive 6-2 victory at home to Yatton and Cleeve Utd.
