I t proved a difficult weekend for Timsbury Cricket Club with all three teams losing their league games on Saturday before the first team exited the National Village Cup on Sunday with a 48-run defeat at home to Congresbury.  The main achievement, however, was the club managing to field three teams on Saturday despite an abnormal number of unavailabilities. There was a thrilling finish to Timsbury’s first home game of the season in the Bristol and District League Senior Division with their match with Coalpit Heath finishing in a tie off the last ball of the encounter. Timsbury Cricket Club got their league season off to the perfect start with a convincing seven wicket win away to Hanham in the Bristol and District League Senior  Division. The following day they travelled to Uphill Castle in the National Village Cup and despite fielding a below-strength side triumphed by 17 runs. Timsbury Athletic capped a memorable season in the UHlsport Somerset County League Division One with a 2-1 home win against Middlezoy Rovers Reserves. That confirmed them as champions following Wells City’s defeat against Saltford. Top of the table Timsbury Athletic completed the double over local rivals Welton Rovers Reserves with a 5-2 home win in the UHlsport Somerset County League Division One.
