Despite being without a large number of regular first team players Timsbury romped to a convincing 10-wicket win away to Clevedon seconds in the Bristol and District League Division 1.The home side were dismissed for 86 and acting captain Mark Sage and Greg Passingham guided Timsbury to victory in 18.2 overs. It was not a great weekend for Timsbury with all three teams defeated in the Bristol and District League followed by an early exit from the National Village Cup. The first eleven made the short trip to Keynsham 2nd XI in the Bristol and District League Division 1 and were defeated by 21 runs. Timsbury began the new cricket season with an encouraging 26-run home win against Golden Hill 2nd XI in the Bristol and District League Division 1. After the prolonged rainfall of recent weeks neither side found batting easy on a predictably slow wicket but in the end it was a comfortable win for the home side. Timsbury Athletic gave one of their most committed performances of the season at home to league leaders Mendip Broadwalk in the Uhlsport Somerset County League Premier Division but in the end it was not quite enough. Saturday May 4th sees Timsbury Cricket Club embark on another season in the Bristol and District League with the first team at home to Golden Hill Second eleven.
